The conference will be devoted to synthesis, characterization and uses of lamellar solids, clay-like structures, layered zeolites and mineral clays. State-of-the-art and perspectives of basic and applied research will be highlighted. The major topics of the AIZ Workshop will include: Catalysis, Polymer Composites, Synthetic and Mineral Clays, Layered Solids in Nanotechnology. This conference is a continuation of a series of specifically targeted Workshops promoted by the Italian Association of Zeolites (AIZ) every two years and is organized by the AIZ together with University of Eastern Piedmont "A. Avogadro", the University of Turin and the Polytechnic University of Turin, under the auspices of the International Zeolite Association (IZA).

Quantachrome's Dr Matthias Thommes will present a Keynote Lecture entitled "Recent Advances in the Physical Adsorption Characterization of Nanoporous Materials".
