IMMS 2006

5th International Mesostructured Materials Symposium

August 5 - 7, 2006
Shanghai, China

The IMMS is the renowned symposium organized by the International Mesotructured Materials Association (IMMA) whose general general scope is to promote and encourage all aspects of the science and technology of mesostructured materials. These materials include all mesoporous molecular sieves (MMS) as well as all composite materials comprising MMS. The structured materials obtained via the templating action of polymer beads are also included. The series of IMMS's started in Baltimore in 1998. This year's joint organizers are the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Shanghai Science & Technology Committee, Shanghai Nanotechnology Promotion Center and Fudan University (host organization).

A pre-school on the fundamental practices of mesostructured materials will be held on Aug., 2-4 at Yifu Science and Technology Building inside Fudan University, Shanghai. The purpose of the Pre-School is to train young students who intend to start the research on mesostructured materials. The basic courses will include a serious of topics relating to synthesis techniques, material characterization, catalysis and applications given by a number of distinguished scientists in the field.
