The International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists and the American Chemical Society Division of Colloid and Surface Science, will come together June 14 - 19, 2009 at Columbia University Morningside Campus in New York City to host the Joint 13th International Conference on Surface and Colloid Science and the 83rd Colloid and Surface Science Symposium.

Bringing together top researchers and technologists focusing on a wide range of topics that come under the umbrella of colloid and surface science. Symposia will include behaviors in particulate systems and at interfaces, and the application of this knowledge to a host of industrial technologies. Areas include biomedical, material science, nano-engineering, water treatment, oil recovery, mineral processing, papermaking, and energy and environmental stewardship.

 i   Quantachrome's Director of Applied Science, Dr Matthias Thommes, will give an invited Keynote Lecture titled "Recent Advances in the Textural Characterization of Nanoporous Materials" in the technical session: Novel Measurement Tools & Methods.
