Quantachrome Introduces the Porometer 3G series
of Capillary Flow Porometers
The addition of the Porometer 3G to the ranks of Quantachrome's pore size analyzers represents Quantachrome's latest expansion in supplying quality instruments to an ever wider range of applications in the world of porous materials. Capillary flow porometers are specialized instruments designed to measure the through-pore size distribution in sheet-like materials, such as filters, membranes, sintered discs etc. The 3G porometers are a perfect complement to Quantachrome's existing PoreMaster series of mercury intrusion porosimeters. The Porometer 3G series has a quality pedigree, going back to the Coulter porometer which revolutionized the liquid explusion technique which is the basis of capillary flow porometry. But it also represents the latest generation, state-of-the-art development of the technique: compact, rapid, customizable, with intelligent algorithms and comprehensive Windows-based data acquisition and reporting software.

Quantachrome Instruments Completes Asset Acquisition of Wenman Scientific Porometer Product Range
Boynton Beach, Florida -Quantachrome Instruments today announced it has completed the acquisition of certain assets of Wenman Scientific, a privately held company that provides capillary flow porometers for pore size measurements. Financial details were not disclosed. Wenman Scientific's president, Richard Wenman, will immediately join Quantachrome Instruments in the capacity of Manager, Porometer Products.
The combined technology and capabilities of these companies will allow Quantachrome to further expand it range of products and services by providing capillary flow porometers in business sectors as diverse as filtration, textiles, fuel cells, membranes, and coated papers. The acquisition allows for expanded marketing and support of these innovative porometer technologies via Quantachrome's worldwide network of offices and distributors in over 50 countries.
